The League of Arab States Hosts the Awarding Ceremony of the Prince Muhammad Bin Fahd International Foundation Insignia

Under the auspices of the League of Arab States and the Minister of Social Solidarity of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Her Excellency Dr. Nevine Riyad Al-Kabbaj, Today, Wednesday, February 1, 2023 AD, the closing ceremony of the fourth edition of the Prince Muhammad bin Fahd International Foundation’s Insignia for the best volunteer work in the world, which is organized by the Arab Voluntary Union in the Kingdom of Bahrain in cooperation With the Prince Mohammed bin Fahd International Foundation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under the auspices of the League of Arab States and in partnership with the United Nations Volunteers Programme, the United Nations Population Fund, the Union for the Mediterranean, and the Arab Planning Institute in the State of Kuwait, in the presence of a large number of officials and eminent personalities, and those interested in The area of volunteer and development work, amid great media interest.

The ceremony witnessed the honoring of 18 volunteer projects from 11 countries worldwide. These projects were distinguished in community service. In addition, the prizes for the competition were distributed in six areas.

Won in the area of health, well-being, hygiene, and clean water, WAREED” Vein” blood donation initiative from Morocco.

 KHATWA MEN BADRY “An early step” to a breast cancer detector organization from Sudan.

A volunteer business incubator in Yanbu Industrial City (Volunteer Center) provided by the Royal Commission in Yanbu - Department of Social Services in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

In the area of economic empowerment, poverty eradication, and decent work, won:  EADET AL-AMAL “Bring Back Hope” in Old Mosul initiative, presented by the Muthabarun Voluntary Charity Team from Iraq,

 Tamkeen project, presented by the Namaa Association for Community Development from Jordan,

 Technology House project, presented by the Development and Technology Association, Nagaa Khamis from Egypt.

In the area of education and the eradication of ignorance and illiteracy, won

 Masarat initiative to spread knowledge remotely from Syria,

 the Sudanese Education Support Organization (SEDSO) project from Sudan, and the Kinda Children project from Jordan.

Also won in the area of heritage, culture, and the arts, the Arabic calligraphy project, a Insignia of pride inherited by generations, presented by the Antonine Art Foundation from Lebanon, the Ramadan initiative with the flavor of MY Arab country, presented by the Tunisian Association for Modern Education Technology from Tunisia, and the Arabic Calligraphy Endowment project proposed by the Pen Foundation for Arts and Culture from Egypt.

In the area of environment, climate, clean energy, and life in water and land, won the Green Mosul Initiative, presented by the Eye of Mosul team from Iraq, the Green Workers Program, presented by the Green Generation Association from Jordan, and the Solaire Irrigation par énergie project presented by MOUES Imed from Algeria.

Finally, in the area of food security and the eradication of hunger, won the Sustainable Agriculture Initiative to support smallholder women farmers from Egypt, the Rohingya relief project in northern Thailand, presented by the Al Rahma Charitable Organization Asia in Thailand, and the vital agriculture project presented by Royal Green Technologies from Egypt.

The ceremony also witnessed the honoring of several Arab development pioneers who support the civil and community work process. They are Dr. Badr Othman Malallah, Director General of the Arab Planning Institute, Mr. Ishaq Ibrahim Ishaq, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Weightlifting Federation from the Kingdom of Bahrain, and Mr. Jawad Bukhamseen, Chairman of the Board of Directors. Furthermore, the founder of the Bukhamseen Holding Group, in appreciation of their prominent role in serving volunteer and development work.

In this regard, His Excellency Counselor Khamis Al Bouzidi, Director of the Civil Society Organizations Department of the League of Arab States, affirmed that the university's sponsorship of the Prince Muhammad bin Fahd International Foundation's Insignia ceremony for the best volunteer work for the fourth year in a row demonstrates the extent of the Arab League's interest in civil society organizations concerned with volunteer work and working to implement the objectives of Sustainable development 2030 AD, stressing that the League of Arab States is keen to unify efforts and coordination between Arab governments and civil society organizations and institutions to effectively involve them in the system of joint action that serves development issues at the Arab level.

For his part, Mr. Hassan Bu Hazaa, President of the Arab Union for Volunteering, thanked the League of Arab States for its permanent sponsorship of the Insignia and its embrace since its first launch in the year 2018 AD, as well as the Prince Muhammad bin Fahd International Foundation for its continuous support for the Insignia, appreciating at the same time the effective partnership with the United Nations Population Fund, the United Nations Volunteers Program, the Union for the Mediterranean, and the Arab Planning Institute in the State of Kuwait, for their cooperation and outstanding efforts in promoting joint action to serve sustainable development issues in the world. He also congratulated the recipients of the Insignia, wishing them all success in developing their development projects.

For his part, Dr. Issa bin Hassan Al-Ansari, Secretary-General of the Prince Muhammad bin Fahd International Foundation, congratulated the award winners for their innovative quality projects, stressing that the Insignia was able to contribute to creating honest competition and encouraging distinguished ideas and initiatives that contribute to the development of societies, stressing that all participants Insignia, they are considered among the winners, as they will benefit from participation by learning about the mechanisms of developing their projects, improving their capabilities, and ensuring their sustainability to serve their communities.

Dr. Al-Ansari explained that the award of the Prince Mohammed bin Fahd International Foundation for the best volunteer work in the world comes as one of the qualitative initiatives launched by the Foundation in light of its humanitarian and societal duty toward people.

On the other hand, the winners of the fourth edition of the Prince Muhammad bin Fahd International Foundation Insignia for the best volunteer work in the world expressed their great pride in winning. They expressed their sincere thanks and appreciation to the Arab Voluntary Union and the Prince Muhammad bin Fahd International Foundation and those in charge of the Insignia for their contribution to supporting and highlighting volunteer work. They affirmed that this win represents a milestone for a new stage of development for their projects and the expansion of their services.
