The Arab Voluntary Union has announced the date of the closing ceremony of the fourth edition of the Prince Mohammed bin Fahd International Award for Best Voluntary Work, which the Foundation organizes in cooperation with the Arab Voluntary Union under the auspices of the League of Arab States and the Minister of Social Solidarity of Egypt, Her Excellency Dr. Nevin Riyad Al-Qabbaj, in partnership with the United Nations Volunteers Program, the United Nations Population Fund, the Union for the Mediterranean, and the Arab Planning Institute in the State of Kuwait, on the first of February 2023 AD, where the Insignia awards ceremony will be held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States.
The ceremony will honor 18 volunteer projects from 11 countries worldwide. In addition, several prominent personalities who support the voluntary development work process at the Arab level will also be honored.
It is noteworthy that the Insignia of the Prince Muhammad bin Fahd International Foundation for the best volunteer work targets organizations, institutions, civil society organizations (civil society organizations), licensed volunteer initiatives and teams, government and private institutions, and commercial companies. The fields of the Insignia for this year include the field of education and the eradication of ignorance and illiteracy. The field of food security and the eradication of hunger; the field of health, well-being, hygiene, and clean water; the field of economic empowerment and the eradication of poverty and decent work; the field of environment, climate, clean energy, life underwater and life on land, The field of heritage, culture, and arts.
This award aims to honor the makers of the best volunteer projects in the world and to spread their projects and experiences among volunteers, thus contributing to spreading the culture of volunteering and developing volunteer work and highlighting its role in the comprehensive and sustainable development of societies, as well as strengthening the principle of effective partnership with civil society organizations, bodies, institutions and volunteer teams, and strengthening the spirit of honest competition between associations, centers and volunteer teams in the world.
