Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd International Foundation and The Arab Voluntary Union Host Virtual Press Conference

 

Manama, Bahrain, 13 October 2020: Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd International Foundation held a press conference on Monday, October 12 2020 to announce the details of the third edition of the Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd International Foundation Global Insignia for Best Voluntary Work organized by The Arab Voluntary Union, based in the Kingdom of Bahrain and  Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd International Foundation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under the auspices of the League of Arab States, and in partnership with the United Nations Volunteers Program - Egypt, the United Nations Population Fund – the Regional Office for Arab Countries and the Arab Planning Institute in Kuwait.

The virtual press conference was joined by Mr. Zaidan Ali Al-Zaidan, Executive Director of the Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd International Foundation, Ms. Samya Hussain, Arab Voluntary Union Consultant and Jury Member in addition to media professionals and an audience of individuals interested in the field of voluntary work.

Mr. Hassan Buhazza, President of the Arab Voluntary Union said that “The virtual press conference reviewed the details of Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd International Foundation global Insignia for Best Voluntary Work, the criteria for participation for this year’s edition, the target groups and previous participations to date in addition to inviting all those interested in volunteer work from around the world to participate in one of the most prominent global prizes in the field of humanitarian work and volunteerism, the prize is held in conjunction with International Volunteer Day, which falls on the fifth of December of each year and is estimated at 30.000 US dollars for each field, with a total of 180.000 US dollars”.

Mr. Zaidan Ali Al-Zaidan, Executive Director of the Prince Mohammed Bin Fahd Foundation for Human Development said that “the Foundation is keen to serve comprehensive community development challenges in various fields and at all levels by intensifying collective efforts to develop and innovate specialized initiatives and programs, the launch of the Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd International Foundation Global Insignia for Best Voluntary Work in its third version aims to spread and strengthen the concept of social responsibility and encourage non-governmental organizations, entities and individuals to increase their contribution to voluntary projects in order to achieve development around the world”.

Ms. Samya Hussain, Arab Voluntary Union Consultant and Jury Member spoke about the criteria and categories for participation in the prize, she also mentioned that the juries committee include a number of international, qualified and experienced judges who will support applicants and classify submitted projects according to the terms and conditions of participation.

Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd International Foundation global Insignia for Best Voluntary Work will cover fields of education, health, economic empowerment, heritage, culture and art, water management and environment in addition to the fields of marketing and social media, civil society organizations, voluntary initiatives, private institutions in addition to and commercial companies from all over the world are welcome to participate in the prize.

Submission of voluntary projects started on the 27th of September 2020 and will continue until the 28th of October 2020, Participation forms can be obtained from the official websites of the Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd International Foundation.
